04 Sep Case Study: Double Storey Extension on Detached, 3 Bedroom House in Hull
Our client in Hull wanted to add additional living space to their property at the rear and side of the building by adding a double storey wrap around extension. Previously they found their living space limited their lifestyle and as a result extending the building both to the rear and the side on two levels would add more vital space to accommodate their needs.
As par of our commitment to providing our clients with all the essential knowledge regarding their project ideas prior to any commitment, one of our architectural designers attended the priority to discuss the feasibility of the project and any design ideas that the client had. The initial meeting is also a great way our designers e what they are working with and obtain any essential measurement needed for their design drawings.
From this initial meeting, our designer went away to create various design options so the client could choose the right one to suit their lifestyle needs.
The design chosen by the client was an extension on both floors that wrapped around the side of the house. The extension added a larger kitchen and day room space along with storage area to the ground floor of the property and extended one bedroom into a master bedroom with a dressing room on the first floor of the property.
Once the designs were confirmed and planning permission approved, the client also requested we draw up building regulations drawings and submit these to Building Control to ensure that their double storey wrap around extension adheres to the appropriate regulations and that their quotations from builders were as accurate as possible.
